Decoma Exterior Systems (UK), a wholly-owned operating division of MAGNA INTERNATIONAL INC. is a full service supplier of exterior vehicle appearance systems for the world's automotive industry.
Decoma needed to create a "foolproof" labeling system for the parts they supply to Honda of the UK Manufacturing Ltd (HUM). Decoma had already successfully implemented product manufacturing improvements to meet HUM quality criteria and to prove their capability further set out to provide a foolproof part-labeling, packing and despatch management system to enable line controllers to review the status of jobs, monitor the rate of work, put tasks on hold and handle exceptions to workflow. This ensured Just In Time delivery of parts to HUM production lines.

Mind is the leading mental health charity in England and Wales. Their Fundraising team had been working with a partially customised third party database application and feedback from users made a thorough system review imperative. With the main focus on the use of the software, the review set out to investigate the way work was done across Fundraising and provide prioritized recommendations to improve operational efficiency and fundraising effectiveness in the context of their integrated fundraising strategy. Active Media provided a database/IT expert with specialist knowledge of the voluntary sector and an organisational development consultant to examine working practices and structure.

The National Home Energy Rating (NHER) - Web Application
|
|
The National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme provides technical and business support for individuals and organisations involved in domestic energy efficiency. When building regulations in England and Wales changed it meant significant compliance implications for the building industry and NHER, in partnership with the Construction Products Association, needed to develop a web-based 'simulation' tool to enable the industry to understand and assess the impact of the new regulations on their business. The NHER developed the underlying software in-house, and outsourced the development of a website that integrated well with current NHER and NES branding and website styles, was easy to use and had the flexibility to grow and adapt over time.

- Data Migration
When the NSPCC installed a new Case Recording and Management system they had the onerous task of migrating around 50 million records of sensitive data from an AS/400 based application to a Third Party package running on clustered SQL/Server. As well as technical ability and robustness to cope with complex design and functionality requirements the data migrators needed to ensure appropriate data quality, and to supply high volume migration speed, and an audit tracking capability.

NSPCC - Reporting System
In April 2000, the government introduced new legislation
to replace the old covenant system known as Gift Aid.
The new legislation is designed to benefit charities
in terms of revenue and facilitate the claim process.
It now allows charities to claim the tax on all gifts
received as long as they have the name and address of
the supporter, confirmation that they are a tax payer
and have authorised the NSPCC to collect the tax.
